Self-Love sausage

Womens’ media is full of calls for self-love and body positivity. It almost seems as though loving your body unconditionally has become a condition for being a fully realized woman or feminist. This is, ironically, another unreachable goal set for women in today’s society. Zizi’s acts often reflect on societal themes and play with ideas of the absurd and the monstrous feminine. The act Self-Love Sausage is no different. In it, Zizi asks ‘what if we take the idea of self-love to the extreme?’. Inspired by the signs outside butcher shops in which smiling pigs sell their own sausage, Zizi portrays a glamorous piggy who loves herself just a little bit too much…
